A Little Bit About Myself

I AM A HAND GUIDED LONGARM QUILTER IN FENELON FALLS, ONTARIO.
I LOVE TO DESIGN AND CONSTRUCT LITURGICAL FABRIC ART, INCLUDING WALL HANGINGS, BANNERS, LECTERN AND ALTAR HANGINGS AS WELL AS MINISTER’S STOLES FOR THE VARIOUS SEASONS.

PIECING AND QUILTING QUILTS FOR MYSELF, FAMILY AND FRIENDS GIVES ME AN OPPORTUNITY TO TRY NEW TECHNIQUES AND DESIGNS AS WELL AS EXPERIMENT WITH COLOUR.
WHEN TIME IS AVAILABLE, HAND QUILTING AND APPLIQUE IS MY CHOICE MODE OF RELAXATION.

  1. I can’t believe that you have the same name and spelling as I have. My grandfather was German, came here to the US as a very small boy stowed away on a ship to N.Y.
And we’re both quitters as well .
    Nice to meet you!
    Do you Facebook?

    • Hi Susanne,
Nice to meet you as well.
My parents came to Canada in 1962 and settled in the Toronto area. We came by ship as well, although not stoweaways :). My maiden name was Fleischhauer (translated: meat puncher). My husband who came to Canada with his parents when he was 3 has the last name of Meyer. His family is from north Germany, Bremen. I understand that Meyer is a very common name, like Smith in english, although the spelling can be Meier or Myer as well.
I do have a Facebook page under sgmeyer2@gmail.com.
      Happy quilting!!!
      Susanne
